
Springtime egg hunts kicked off in New York City this weekend and more are happening right before or on Easter Sunday. Here’s where to find them:
MANHATTAN
Families will gather like they do every year on Dongan Lawn in Fort Tryon Park for the Annual Easter Egg Hunt, Saturday, April 4, 10am-noon. Organized by the Fort Tyron Park Conservancy, the festive tradition includes games, music and face painting. The rain date is Sunday, April 12.
Bring your own basket to the Elizabeth Street Garden in Nolita, Sunday, April 5 to search for eggs hidden in the one-acre community garden. Toddler Time is from 11:30am-noon and noon-2pm for all ages. The event is FREE; all are welcome.
Trinity Church will host an Easter Egg Hunt and Celebration in the churchyard following a family-friendly Eucharist on Sunday, April 5. The service is at 9am; the egg hunt will be held from 10-11am.
BROOKLYN
Carroll Gardens families: get a spot while you still can for the Easter Scavenger Hunt, Saturday, April 4 in Carroll Park. Presented by Brooklyn Church, the event is FREE and geared to ages 3-10. Meet at the park house at 11am; the scavenger hunt, mini-games and face painting will go until 12:30pm.
In Bed-Stuy, the Whole Neighborhood Garden hosts Easter in the Garden, noon-2pm, with an Easter egg hunt, games and crafts. This event is also FREE.
QUEENS
Final chance to participate in the celebrated Barnyard Egg Hunt at the Queens County Farm Museum on Saturday, April 4. Egg hunts are divided into ages groups of 0-5 with an adult and ages 5 and up. Tickets are timed, 10:15am-3:45pm and priced at $17 general admission, children under 2 are FREE. BYOB is encouraged. Be sure to stop and say hello to the farm’s newest residents, baby quails.
Registration opens tomorrow, March 29 at 4pm, for Long Island City’s Annual Egg Hunt & Festival, scheduled for Saturday, April 4 at Gantry Park. Participants need to register for egg hunt portion of the festival. The egg hunts take place every 20 minutes starting at 10:10 am, and are organized by age group.
THE BRONX
The historic Bartow-Pell Mansion Museum hosts its second Annual Easter Egg Hunt of the season on Saturday, April 4, 10am-2pm. Tickets are $15 per kiddo, adults are FREE when accompanied by a child. The event is held rain or shine so dress accordingly.
STATEN ISLAND
The Easter Sunday Egg Hunt at Clay Pit Ponds State Park Reserve, Sunday April 5 is plastic free. Drop-in from 11am-2pm. Participants look for wooden eggs on the park’s trails that can be exchanged for prizes. Recommended for ages 5-12, the event is FREE. BYOB.
